Logano Captures Second NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown Victory

IRWINDALE, Calif. – Joey Logano got his second NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown trophy and Sergio Pena nearly made a historic debut on the national stage.

Logano, 19, held off the 16-year-old Pena and two-time race winner Matt Kobyluck for the victory in the 225-lap race Saturday before a sold-out crowd at the Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

Eddie MacDonald will continue a great tradition of Racing Champions that participate in the Busch Sport Scene Ride for Charity. The NASCAR Camping World Series Star has confirmed that he will be at the 11th annual charity event on February 6, 2009 at the Club House Restaurant in Rangeley, Maine.

Eddie had one of the most amazing years on the racetrack, by any driver from the northeast in recent memory. As a full time competitor on the NASCAR Camping World Series in 2009, Eddie finished runner-up for the series championship, falling just 34 points behind series champion Ryan Truex, who drives for Michael Waltrip Racing. Eddie notched ten top tens and a pair of pole awards in his best career season in the CWS.

CHARLOTTE, NC (January 27) – After a nearly three year absence, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models will return to the Concord (NC) Speedway this coming Memorial Day weekend. The PASS South Super Late Models will race on the unique half-mile tri-oval on Saturday, May 29th, on the eve of the Coca-Cola 600 just up the road at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced today that K&N Engineering, Inc., will be the title sponsor for NASCAR’s top developmental series, formerly known as the NASCAR Camping World Series East and West, beginning in 2010.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series will continue to crown champions through separate schedules on the East and West Coast. The seven-year agreement illustrates NASCAR’s commitment to the grassroots foundation of the sport.

Even though the Toyota All-Star Showdown in Irwindale, California on January
29-30 is regarded as a post season event for the East and West series, Eddie
MacDonald and the Grimm Racing Team feels it is the kickoff to the 2010
schedule. Touted as the “Daytona 500 of Short Track Racing”, the team would
like nothing better than a win in the prestigious race.
“We have been busy all winter preparing for this race and everyone is
excited to get racing and hopefully come away with the win,” said MacDonald
from his Newbury, Mass. garage. “We are bringing the car we ran there two
years ago to a fifth place finish and we have made some changes especially
with the set-up so we feel very confident of our chances. We had a great
season last year and we hope to continue this year.”

ALLARD FIRST TO FILE FULL SEASON FOR THE SERIE ACT CASTROL

Waterbury, VT – The Kendall Roberts-owned Vermont National Guard team of veteran driver John Donahue filed the first full season entry for the American Canadian Tour (ACT) 2010 season. There was plenty of excitement following the recent 2009 Banquet of Champions, and ACT headquarters received the Donahue entry 24 hours after the entry forms were sent this week.

Waterbury, VT – The Série ACT Castrol event scheduled for Capital City Speedway in Ottawa, ON has been canceled and will not be rescheduled in 2010.

“There was a change in management over the past month, and since the previous lessee had scheduled the event for June 12, 2010 we have carried it on our schedule since last November. The new management has decided to step away from the touring type events and we will respect that decision,” said Darla Hartt, Vice President and Director of Administration for the American Canadian Tour which has sanctioned races at the speedway for the past three seasons.
