Lee, NH – (May 26, 2008) – –  Mother Nature may have shortened the spring schedule at Lee USA Speedway, Lee, NH, but the Route 125 oval, with only one full race program completed and the other finished over two race dates, will host it’s first quarter championships Friday night May 30. All divisions that race in the weekly NASCAR Whelen All American Series will compete.

 Charlotte, NC (May 29) – When the 2008 schedule for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South Super Late Models was announced late last year everyone knew it would be a challenge.  First off, because the schedule was expanded from eight to fourteen races for the first time in the three year history of the series.  Secondly, teams would be going to tracks that they had never seen before.  Perhaps though, within this tough schedule for the East Coast’s only true Super Late Model touring series, PASS South is entering the most grueling part of the tour.

       MONTMAGNY, QC – The Série ACT Castrol championship Late Model stock car racing series is geared up for its second event of 2008, the Montmagny 100 at Autodrome Montmagny Speedway, east of Québec City, on Saturday, May 31 at 1:30pm.  With each of the series’ three past champions running partial schedules this year, the championship chase is wide open.  Leading contenders include Karl Allard, Steven Boissonneault, Jean-François Déry, Alexandre Gingras, and rookie Johnathan Urlin.

WISCASSET RACEWAY PRESS RELEASE 5/25/08

     Near perfect early summer weather greeted a large and eager crowd at Maine's "Center of Speed" for the running of the annual Coastal 200 and Wiscasset Raceway's salute to the troops with Operation Recognition. The program started with special opening ceremonies honoring the men and women of the military and their famililies, plus recognizining the efforts of Operation Recognition. Patience won out on a short track Saturday night filled with hard racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park. Ben Rowe was able to preserve his equipment and make a lap 114 outside charge on Cassius Clark to win the 150 lap Pro All Stars Series (PASS) feature. The victory was Rowe’s eighth at the Avery family’s high banked quarter mile. John Flemming, Mike Rowe, and Richie Dearborn completed the top five.

       BARRE, VT – Veteran stock car driver Rick Garand of Middlesex, VT edged 17 year-old James Hebert of Williamstown, VT for his first NAPA Tiger Sportsman victory since 1995 at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Sunday.  Garand and Hebert raced inches apart over the final five laps for the win during the 46th Annual Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic.

       BARRE, VT – American-Canadian Tour Late Model Championship stock car driver John Donahue of Graniteville, VT won the fastest race in series history at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Sunday, taking the 46th Annual Mekkelsen RV Memorial
Day Classic in 28 minutes and 16 seconds.  Donahue’s #26 National Guard Ford Fusion started fourth on the 30-car grid and came to life just before the halfway point.  Donahue grabbed the lead after an outside pass of polesitter Eric Williams on lap 47, then survived the race’s lone restart on lap 70 to earn the win.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway release

 

Scarborough, Maine-The annual Budweiser 100 for the NASCAR Sport Series took place on Saturday night at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and when the dust settled Clyde Hennessey stood in victory lane. Hennessey had to survive 12 caution flags and several strong competitors before securing the win. Travis Buzzell led the field to the green flag and bolted to the lead with Reggie Leeman hot in pursuit. Buzzell would lead the opening 10 laps before Leeman went in front leading the field to the 3rd caution flag on lap 11.

      BARRE, VT – Stock car driver Fred Schroeder won a special two-segment feature race for the Power Shift Online Junkyard Warrior division at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl on Saturday afternoon (May 24) to open the 46th Annual Mekkelsen RV Memorial Day Classic weekend.  Schroeder, of Bristol, VT, took his first career win over South Burlington, VT’s Mike Gay and Waterbury, VT’s Neal Foster.
