CYR HONORED AS 6TH ACT CHAMPION/GALLISON MACTAVISH AWARD WINNER

The American-Canadian Tour’s (ACT) 2006 race season came to a close Saturday night as the  Jean-Paul Cyr from Milton, VT was honored as its champion Saturday night at the Sheraton Burlington (VT) Hotel and Conference Center.  The title was the sixth for the veteran driver which tied him with the legendary Robbie Crouch for most championships won.  Crouch, who has recently announced his return to ACT competition, is the latest in a strong of competitors who will be vying for the 2007 ACT Tour crown.  Nearly 500 family, friends, crew members and fans turned out for the annual event which also saw several surprise awards presented.  In addition, Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT also presented hardware to its four divisions.

CROUCH RETURNS TO STOCK CAR RACING

            Waterbury, VT – Six-time American-Canadian Tour (ACT) Champion, Robbie Crouch of S. Burlington, VT will return to the Late Model Series in search of a seventh championship title in 2007.  Known as the “Tampa Tornado” during his heyday, Crouch last raced in July, 1997.

The forms will also be available at the PASS booth at the Northeast Motorsports Expo in Augusta, ME on January 5 – 7, 2007.

Old-style Enduro races return to 2007 OPS Motor Mayhem 
 
OXFORD, Maine – Enduro racing was a staple of the Oxford Plains Speedway schedule in the 1980s and ’90s. In the Enduros’ heyday, more than 200 bare-bones cars of all shapes and sizes lined up three-wide around the historic OPS oval for a long-distance test of nerves, occasional spurts of speed and lots of luck. ll that fun, excitement and unpredictability is back at OPS in 2007.

LM Challenge, return of Enduros, Modified races highlight 2007 docket 
 
OXFORD, Maine – The lucrative Late Model Challenge has been issued. Old-style Enduro racing and multiple forms of Modified competition are back. An expanded mid-week slate will see the green flag six weeks ahead of summer.
Those are only a few highlights of the 2007 Oxford Plains Speedway racing schedule released today. Speedway owner Bill Ryan announced an ambitious docket of 44 events to be contested from late April to early October.
